그 시간의 흐름 가운데 코로나19가 끼어들었다. 2020년 행사기획자 20년차 새로운 각오로 시작했던 시기에 코로나19라는 경험하지 못 했던 생활이 찾아 오고 그해 방역을 위한 사회적거리두기 라는 이름으로 행사를 주최할 수 없는 상황이 되었고 2022년 4월 18일 아직 코로나19는 지속되는 상황에서 사회적거리두기는 마스크를 제외하고 모두 해제 되었다. 기획자의 업무도 이제는 일상으로 돌아가야 하며 그 노력이 쉽지는 않을 것이다,

버스킹(거리문화 예술공연, street performance) 길거리에서 행해지는 공연, 개인 혹은 그룹이 공공장소에서 돈을 벌기 위해 노래, 춤, 마술, 연주, 예술의 모든 행위등의 공연을 하는 것을 뜻합니다. 버스킹이라는 용어가 처음으로 사용된 것은 19세기 후반 영국으로 알려져 있습니다. 이 단어의 근원은 스페인의 어원인 Buscar, ‘헤매다‘, ’추구하다’의 의미를 지니고 있답니다. 이것은 버스커들이 일반적으로 버스킹을 통해 명성과 자신의(음악적 혹은 예술적) 운명을 찾아 헤매는 것에 닿아 있습니다.

What is busking?
Busking or street performance is the act of performing to entertain in public places for gratuities.
Busking is common among some Romani people (gypsies). Romantic mention of Romani music, dancers and fortune tellers are found in all forms of song poetry, prose and lore. The Roma brought the word busking to England by way of their travels along the Mediterranean coast to Spain and the Atlantic Ocean and then up north to England and the rest of Europe.
Origin of busk is Spanish ‘Buscar’, meaning to look for and seek.

2015년부터 시작된 여수버스킹페스티벌은 4월부터 10월까지 6개월간 매주 금요일부터 일요일까지 여수밤바다에 아름다운 음악과 공연으로 시민과 관광객들에게 낭만적인 밤을 선물합니다.

해양공원, 카페베네 옆 산책로, 구 삼양사 산책로, 춤추는 빛 광장 산책로, 선어시장 건너편 등에서 젊은이들의 핫플레이스인 홍대와 같은 곳에서나 볼 수 있던 공연들을 볼 수 있습니다.
2017년 여름부터는 ‘제1회 여수 국제 버스킹 페스티벌‘ 을 개최하여 여수를 넘어 세계인의 축제로 발돋움하고 있습니다. 국내외 유명 뮤지션의 공연, 낭만비어, 로맨틱 아트마켓 등 여름바다의 낭만을 즐길 수 있는 다양한 공연과 행사로 꾸며집니다.
2018년 4월 20일(금)부터 10월 21일(일)까지 그 화려한 무대가 이제 시작 되었습니다.

Yeosu Busking Festival, which started in 2015, presents a romantic night for citizens and tourists with beautiful music and performances in Yeosu night sea from April to October on every Friday to Sunday.
In the summer of 2017, 1st Yeosu International Busking Festival is held and is becoming a world festival beyond Yeosu region. It is decorated with various performances and events to enjoy the romance of the summer sea including performances of famous musicians from home and abroad, romantic beer and art market.
The spectacular stage has now begun from Friday, April 20, 2018 to Sunday, October 21, 2018
